Sheila Dianne Jackson is a Creative Activist. Her mission is to celebrate Life; to  tell stories with a rich historical context; to illuminate perspectives that have long been silenced and experiences that have previously been excluded from the media landscape. Originally starting out in commercials, her television ad campaigns for cause-powered movements have earned multiple Telly, ADDY, and Aurora awards, and two mayoral commendations from the City of Los Angeles.

Also an accomplished writer and historian, Sheila is author of two historical biography collections and a scholar on the Civil Rights and Harlem Renaissance eras. She is a student of the histories of all peoples, and brings an in-depth understanding of the unique journey of women and marginalized cultures. Sheila is also among historians included in the University of Washington's oral history archive of  “Women Who Rock,” which explores how women have used music as a tool for activism. She has been invited to the SXSW Music Festival where she hosted the first panel on “Genre Busting: Black Women in Rock.”

Sheila is an alum of Writer’s Bootcamp’s 2-year screenwriting program. She loves to explore different approaches to storytelling. Sheila made her directorial debut on an episode of “Everything I Did Wrong In My Twenties” - which aired on BET.

Sheila is also a Founder of Jackson McCrea, Inc.
